Frequently Asked Questions

How many students are at Milgate PS?

In 2018 we now have around 710 students.

When do I need to enrol my child?

We request that enrolments are submitted by Term 3 in the year before your child starts school. However in recent years we have had to limit our intake for Foundation students due to high numbers of enrolments.  Once this occurs, we may only be able to accept enrolments where we are your closest school.  Due to this we highly recommend that parents submit their child's enrolment form as early as possible to avoid disappointment. This will also ensure you are aware of the Transition program dates throughout Terms 2 - 4 and will ensure any friendship or educational requests for your child are able to be taken into consideration.

Is Milgate zoned?

We are currently not zoned. However as some schools are currently under review by the Department of Education it is always best to contact us if we are not your closest school or if you are unsure. We are fortunate to have plenty of space for expansion as needed and generous grounds for our students to actively play outside.

If Milgate is my closest school, will you accept my child's enrolment?

Yes. Your child is guaranteed a place at their closest school so that every child can access the government education system.

Do you have any composite classes?

No, we don't have classes with composite/combined year levels.

What difference does being an IB World School make for my child?

The Victorian curriculum is incorporated into the PYP learning program.  Further to this, the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) prepares students to become active, caring and lifelong learners. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom.

Through the IB Primary Years Program we challenge students to excel in their studies, and encourage both personal and academic achievement.
